The Federal Foreign Office is currently warning against non-essential tourist travel to many countries, due to severe restrictions on international (air) travel, entry restrictions, quarantine measures, and restrictions on public life. Travellers are advised to inform themselves about current regulations by contacting the embassy or consulate of their destination country prior to departure since many countries are imposing ad hoc entry bans or additional checks for certain groups of travellers/people. This particularly applies to unavoidable and essential business travel – whether within Germany or abroad. We strongly recommend to consider current travel advice and regulations issued by respective authorities and institutions, and to contact the embassy or foreign diplomatic representation of transit and destination countries for information concerning travel options and other measures. This particularly applies to travel between countries outside Germany.
