2019-07-05: According to a police report from Friday (05 July), gunmen kidnapped two Chinese employees of a glass and aluminium company based in Benin City and shot dead their accompanying police officer on Wednesday evening (03 July, local time). The targeted abduction took place in the town of Utesi, south of Benin City in the southern state of Edo. The incident happened outside the company premises.
Update 2019-04-07: According to current reports from Sunday (07 April), the American tourist and her safari guide, who were kidnapped by armed men in the National Park on Tuesday (02 April), were rescued.
2017-07-06: 24 truck drivers travelling in a convoy from Tanzania were kidnapped in Lulimba, in the eastern province of South Kivu, by local Mai-Mai militias on 29 June, according to a statement from the Tanzanian foreign ministry from Wednesday (05 July). 21 Tanzanian nationals and three Kenyans are among the victims. The convoy was on the way to the Namoya gold mine in Maniema province.
According to a statement from the Congolese army, multiple people were killed in clashes with Mai-Mai militias in the Misisi area of South Kivu.
2016-11-27: Six Pakistani workers of a Polish company were kidnapped on a road near the village of Drazinda, at Dera Ismail Khan, in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), by militants from their vehicle on Sunday afternoon (27 November, local time).
