Update 2019-09-30: According to current forecasts, Hurricane Lorenzo will hit the western Azores overnight Wednesday (01/02 October).
The hurricane can cause uprooting of trees and damage roofing material. A storm tide of up to 2.5 meter above average is possible. Due to heavy rainfalls and rise of water level, coastal flooding and local inland flooding (and landslides) can be expected. Inhabitants of coastal regions and low-lying areas are advised to take shelter.
