Update 2019-05-30 (2): 19 people are still unaccounted for on Thursday morning (30 May, local time). 33 South Korean tourists were onboard the boat as well as two Hungarian crew members. Seven people were rescued and seven others died.
The sightseeing boat was operated by the company 'Panorama Deck' and had collided with another tourist vessel at 09:15 p.m. local time. The river had a very strong current due to heavy rainfalls. The wreck was found near Margaret Bridge.
Update 2019-05-30 (1): The accident took place at a dock near the parliament building in Budapest at around 10:00 p.m. local time. The ship 'Hableany' was moored and capsized after being hit by another vessel. Most of the passengers onboard the excursion boat 'Hableany' were South Korean tourists. At least seven people were killed.
2019-05-30: On Wednesday (29 May), several people died in a ship accident on the river Danube in Budapest. 15 people were rescued, 16 people are still missing. The ship had collided with another ship.
Travellers should follow instructions by security forces.
