2020-08-06: According to reports from Thursday (06 August), at least ten people were killed by floods in Sudan last week. 14 of the country's 18 states were affected and more than 3,300 homes were destroyed. At least 50,000 people are affected by the floods. A dam in the Blue Nile State had already burst on 29 July.
Local traffic disruptions are to be expected, floods and landslides remain possible in the coming days. Travellers should exercise heightened caution, especially near rivers/the sea and mountainslopes and follow instructions by authorities.
