2017-09-15: Tropical Storm Norma developed over the Eastern Pacific Ocean, which is forecast to hit the southern parts of Baja California Sur, possibly with hurricane strength winds, on Sunday (17 August). The storm may further affect the states of Sonora, Baja California, and Sinaloa.
Heavy rainfalls are to be expected beforehand, which may cause floods, flash floods and landslides. Due to high winds, storm damage is possible in the areas directly affected by the tropical storm. (Air-)Traffic disruptions are to be expected. Travellers are advised to exercise elevated caution near mountainsides and rivers.
