2020-01-01: Heavy rainfalls caused widespread floods in the Jakarta metropolitan area since Tuesday (31 December). Air, railway, and road traffic were disrupted. There were reports of several fatalities. Houses were also damaged by landslides. Power was cut in affected areas due to the risk of electrical shocks.
Ongoing traffic disruptions, floods, and landslides are to be expected. Travellers should exercise heightened caution, especially near rivers and mountainsides, and follow instructions from authorities.
