Update 2019-05-14: Four cruise passengers and a pilot were killed in the crash, according to current reports. One person is still unaccounted for. Four of the ten injured people were severely injured.
The victims were passengers of the cruise ship Royal Princess on a seven-day roundtrip starting in Vancouver and returning from a tour over the Misty Fjords. The tour was carried out by Taquan Air. Flight operations were temporarily suspended. A Taquan Air flight had also crashed at Prince of Wales Island in Alaska in July 2018.
The second floatplane was on an independent tour.
2019-05-14: Two floatplanes collided and crashed near Ketchikan in south eastern Alaska early on Monday afternoon (13 May, local time). Around 16 people were onboard the aircraft. At least ten people were injured. The accident occurred in the bay George Inlet.
