2018-07-13: According to current reports, at least eight people were killed on Thursday (12 July) by floods and landslides following continuous heavy rainfall in several regions of Nepal. Dozens of houses collapsed; hundreds of people were displaced. Particularly affected are the districts of Rupandehi and Kapilvastu in the south, Jhapa in the east, Bhaktapur near the capital Kathmandu and Baglung in central Nepal.
Further floods, flash floods, and landslides are to be expected due to ongoing rainfalls. (Air) traffic disruptions are possible. Travellers are advised to exercise high caution near mountainsides and rivers.
