2017-08-05: According to reports from Saturday (05 August) unrest occurs over disputed election results in Enga province in Papua New Guinea. Near the city of Wabag houses were set on fire. Several people were killed and multiple others injured in fightings between hostile tribes.
Increased security measures are to be expected, local traffic disruptions are possible. Further violent incidents cannot be ruled out. Travellers should follow instructions by authorities.
