2017-05-07: According to reports from Sunday (07 May), heavy rainfalls have caused floods in large parts of eastern Canada for several days now. More than 120 cities and villages are affected by the flooding, especially in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick provinces. Water levels are expected to rise until at least Tuesday (09 May). Evacuation orders were issued, the deployment of soldiers was ordered.
Traffic and infrastructure disruptions are to be anticipated. Travellers are advised to exercise caution near rivers and mountainsides.
